TÁŇA PAUHOFOVÁ (SLOVAKIA) —  [ Latest:  shooting the lead role in the Czech adaptaion of the world-wide hit series based HPI, known in the USA as  HIGH POTENTIAL (playing the role of Caitlin Olson in the ABC series)]    Signed her after viewing her tour-de-force performance in the official Czech entry to the 2025 foreign language Oscars – the political thriller WAVES. The film itself is definitely one of the best I saw all year, a historical drama set at the time of the Prague Spring in 1968, when the country rose up against the Soviet oppressor to demand more freedom before being ruthlessly put down by the Soviet army. Tania plays the female lead Vera Stovickova , a journalist who is tired of playing it safe and goes all out to tell the truth, no matter what.  The film, which was short-listed for an Oscar, won major awards in its native Czechia and across Europe, after premiering at the KARLOVY VARY INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL and earned Tania a Best Actress award at the Czech Lion Awards, further cementing her place as one of Central Europe’s top actresses. Born on August 13, 1983, in Bratislava, Pauhofová has captivated audiences across film, television, and theatre with her powerful performances and deep emotional range. She first gained international recognition with her role in Agnieszka Holland’s critically acclaimed miniseries BURNING BUSH (2013), where she portrayed Dagmar Burešová, a lawyer who defended the family of Jan Palach, the student who self-immolated in protest against the Soviet occupation of Czechoslovakia. The series was highly praised and showcased her ability to bring complex, historical figures to life. She continued to impress with performances in LÍDA BAAROVÁ (2016), where she played the title role of the famous Czech actress entangled with Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels. Other notable film roles include TENDER WAVES (2013), MUZIKA (2008), and ALL OR NOTHING (2017).  In recent years, she has taken on even more challenging and diverse roles, including: THE SLEEPERS (2019, HBO SERIES) – A gripping political thriller where she played a pivotal role. ALMA AND OSKAR (2022) – A historical drama about the passionate relationship between artist Oskar Kokoschka and Alma Mahler, where she delivered a stunning performance.  On television, she gained popularity through the HBO psychological drama series THERAPY (2011), the historical series ME, MATTONI (2016), and the romantic drama ZAMILOVANE (2018).  SPEAKS PERFECT ENGLISH
